“I dreamt I was a hummingbird… It is said: She will emerge from her chrysalis; a particle of air, of sound, of ideal, and will open herself to the world to absolve it of its restraint. Then great joys will be born of her appearance. And She will go beyond the seas and the cities, into the hollow of the surf, to bind together what was scattered.”

In 2011, Équi-Libre was installed in Saint-Paul-de-Vence for the exhibition L’Artenciel, facing “L’Envol” by Jean-Michel Folon. From the top of her ladder, which has neither beginning nor end, the woman with the birdcage head seems to encourage Folon’s hatted figure to take flight. Against the sky, the two silhouettes hold a dialogue.
